Jessica Willits

VIDEO:  "Reaching out in our schools"

It was just weeks ago that Jessica left her hometown of Brainerd for a new life in Crookston, where she attends high school as a ninth grader. At 13, Jessica is already well-known as a voice for her peers on such issues as gardens in the schools and taking a stand against bullying. She is a natural talker and thinker. Her first spoken words at nine months old came out as a complete sentence: “More scrambled eggs, please, dad.” Jessica likes to write songs and stories, sing for different events, play piano, and watch anime on YouTube. She hopes to be an aeronautical engineer someday and work for NASA, perhaps publishing a book or two on the side. She is the daughter of Doug and Wendy Willits and has three siblings, Jakob, Nicole, and Dawson.
