Dr. Shelly Richardson has been working in social work for 19 years, focusing on children, families, mental health, and public policy. She views her work in the college setting as an investment in the education of future social workers. Shelly says she is driven by a commitment to human rights and social justice, which energizes the work she does to promote change. She has worked in government and non-profit sectors serving the marginalized and conducted research on quality standards for transitioning adolescents with mental illness into adult systems of healthcare. Shelly earned her doctorate from Capella University and masters from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She is a certified supervisor for the Minnesota Board of Social Work and Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.
